Alberta Forest Pest Diagnostic System
http://www.albertaforesthealth.com
This innovative Alberta Forest Pest Damage Diagnostic System provides Albertans with an expansive database detailing host trees, symptoms, biology, impact, terms and images relating to forest pests in Alberta. The System has several useful tools for diagnosis, searches, and comparisons, as well as galleries of pest-related images and a glossary of terms. All these provide information about Alberta's forest pests and their host trees.
This application dynamically draws information and images from a database maintained by Forest Health administrators. Both the Flash Interface and non-Flash versions access the same data, therefore all users of the System have the most current information.
FISH QUIZ
http://www.srd.gov.ab.ca/fw/fishing/afw/quiz/quiz.cfm
To stay within Alberta's fishing regulations, it is important for sports anglers to be able to identify the fish they are catching.
Cricket Works Design Group Inc. was contracted to develop a salmonid (Trout) identification tutorial along with a testing quiz. The testing quiz draws random photos from a library with a multiple choice answering system. After three incorrect answers you are moved on to the next photo and a score is given at the end of the quiz. This is a great way to learn salmonid species identification.
Electronic Business Intelligence Service (EBIS)
http://www.alberta-canada.com/ebis/index.cfm
Alberta Economic Development's Electronic Business Intelligence Service (EBIS). This was developed in cooperation with Indistry Canada and SourceCan. It is an online portal for Alberta Businesses to access information and opportunities relating to export. Searchable categories such as Hot Tips, Project Profiles, Links and Reports provide suggestions, up-to-date information as well as business leads. The partnership with SourceCan and Industry Canada further enables businesses to tap into current market and industry sectors. Also available to users is an online Discussion Forum where they can share information.
Trade and Industry Directors throughout the world add tips, profiles and reports to the site's categories, monitor content and can generate reports, enabling EBIS to be an informative and up-to-date web site for Alberta exporters.
This application has allowed Cricket Works to use state-of-the-art technology, merge multiple databases and enable an eastern-based Oracle database (Industry Canada) to share information with a local SQL data server. We are proud to add this application to our list of accomplishments.
CLAIM MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS INC.
This California based company had a very large DOS database. This database included over 240,000 records of hardware items, stereos, TV's, etc.
This database includes make, model, year of manufacture, and replacement cost.
Claim Management markets this database to insurance companies and adjusters to assist them in processing insurance claims.
We were approached to see if we could make this a marketable on-line service.
The resulting user-friendly application allows a subscriber to search this 240,000 record database (now converted to SQL server) with almost instantaneous results. This, combined with other multiple on-going projects, makes Cricket Works Design Group Inc. one of the leading web application developers in the province of Alberta.

Programs, dates, teachers and volunteers are all managed by a main Administrator. All Admin activity dynamically updates the Program Calendar for the public. In addition, registrations are confirmed through an email confirmation process.
WEBAIR

During Alberta's forest fire season the Provincial Forest Fire Centre needs to locate and assign aircraft to forest fire emergencies. The faster they can get a fire bomber over a new fire, the more likely it will prevent a major fire.
Cricket Works developed an application, which allows qualified aircraft contractors throughout Canada to maintain a list of their available aircraft types, their status (available or in-use) and an aircraft's present location.
For example if the Provincial Forest Fire Centre determines there is a fire emergency 200 kilometers north of Slave Lake they can quickly reference the data base for available aircraft of a given type within a user selectable distance of the fire location, assign those aircraft and stand ready for the next emergency.
The Provincial Forest Fire Centre has successfully used this system for the past two fire seasons in Alberta and the application is now being deployed nationally.
ALBERTA FIRBANS
Contracted by Alberta Forest Protection, Cricket Works Design Group Inc. developed a method to allow provincial counties, municipal districts, towns and cities to assign a fire ban on-line.
Each is given a unique user name and password, which allows them to login, assign a fire ban along with a description. In the case of counties and municipal districts, the on-line map is modified to indicate a coverage area. To remove the fire ban an authorized person simply logs in, clicks on the "Remove Fire Ban" and the change is made on the map.
ADVANTAGE 2001
In January 2001 we were contracted by Alberta Economic Development to develop an application to assist in their on-going efforts to attract investors to Alberta.
With multiple trade directories in place, potential investors were targeted throughout the world. Each trade director was responsible for multiple investors. The investors were invited to Alberta and the 2001 Games as guests of the Provincial Government
Cricket Works created on-line applications, which allowed investors to review and alter their proposed agendas. Trade directors could use the application to monitor investor interest and post changes or additions. Trade director supervisors could monitor all activity from any computer workstation connected to the Internet.
